It has been brought to my attention, that in all these updates I have failed to comment on how Crissy is feeling. My bad. She seems to be doing very well. She has told me that she doesn’t have any pain, at least not that she’s telling me or anyone else, and she doesn’t really seem to be affected by postpartum depression this time around. Right after the babies were born, a couple of days after I think, symptoms started showing up, but she already had her prescriptions from Dr. Dunn so all we had to do was stop on the way home from the hospital to get them filled. She has said that things have been much better this time around. She has been going to bed mainly somewhere between 8:00-9:00 pm or so and getting up somewhere between 4:30-5:30 am. The only complaint that I remember hearing from her was that she hasn’t gotten to really see any of the skating at the Olympics. As for me being a typical guy, that really doesn’t bother me since they’re not throwing a football or anything. Although, I must admit that I have watched most of it. I guess that means that I’m in touch with my feminine side. LOL!
Today the kiddos went for their two week check-up. Everything went good with a good report. Just as one would expect things to go good with a good report. Duh. Brooke’s weight today was 6 pounds 1 ounce, she was 19 inches long and her head measured 13 and 1/4 inches. This is up from the last check-up of 5 pounds 6 ounces. So Brooke is growing already. She already has a beautiful smile and I think she already has me wrapped around her little finger. We’ll see. Brady’s weight today was 7 pounds 5 ounces, he was 19 and 3/4 inches long, and his head measured 14 inches. This is up from the last check-up of 6 pounds 1 ounce. So this means that Brady is also growing. Oh boy, there are now three growing kids in the house. Thank goodness for Bama’s help. Things would be very rough without it. FYI, Lane is 40 inches tall and weighs 37 pounds. It’s hard to believe that Brooke and Brady are already two weeks old, and Lane is 4 years old. Man time sure does seem like it is going by too fast. The nights, at least the past couple of them, have gone well. I realize that I just jinxed things, but it is the truth. The past two nights, when night duty was over, I went to bed between 5:00 and 5:30 am. I know that I haven’t updated in a couple of days, but there really wasn’t much to report. Things are still going well, and we hope they stay that way. I almost forgot. Brady did have a little slight heart murmur, but the doctor said that it sounded more functional than structural, meaning that she didn’t think that there was a problem with his heart, and should go away by the time he reaches 4 months. I guess on that note we will just have to wait and see. I guess that’s all for now.
Last night was another fussy night. And both Brooke and Brady were fussy. I’m not exactly sure what time they finally settled down, but it had to be sometime after 4am. Things seem to be doing ok today at least for now. I almost got in trouble today. Bama went out to start her car to go to Wal-Mart, and it wouldn’t start. This was after she tried to get the film in her camera out only to find that it had stuck and she had no pictures. Then she came back in from trying to start her car and said it just wasn’t her day. Crissy looked at me because of the threats I’ve been making, and I had to put my right hand over my heart and my left hand to the sky and say that I had nothing to do with it. Bama called Craig’s Automotive in Clifton, who was supposed to replace her battery in the first place, and told them what for about the situation. I went outside and jumped her car off, and she told me that they said that if it starts right away, it was the battery. To which I said, “no duh!” They said that they would be happy to fix Bama’s car any time she brought it in. I think that she’s going to take it in tomorrow to be fixed. We’ll see if they can get it right this time.
Jonathan Dale, one of my old high school best friends came to visit today. It was very good to see him and talk to him. It’s been something like 7 or 8 years since I last talked to him. He gave me some fatherly advice since is already a multi-time father. He held Brooke and Brady and looked like an old pro while doing it. Sorry Kaylee, don’t be jealous.
Today was another good day in baby billmanland. I can’t remember what time I got to bed last night, but I believe it was somewhere around 1:30 or 2am. Once again things went well I believe. I/we can only hope that things continue that way. Bama said that she had a little experience when Lane and I were upstairs for his bath. She went to change Brady, and when she had the new diaper on but not fastened, he decided to let loose with a stream of pee. Then she had to also change his clothes. After all that was done, after she had put another new diaper on him, he decided to make a deposit. So, in other words, she had to change him three times in a row. I was somewhat glad that Lane and I were upstairs. Way to go Bama! Keep doing a wonderful job. I don’t know how things are going to go when she decides to leave. That is, if she can get all her tires filled back up with air, her battery put back in her car, and all her spark plugs replaced. That is my plan anyway.
Last night went pretty well again. The little ones were very fussy and thus were relatively quiet. Brady was sort of ahead of Brooke as far as feeding times were concerned, but it seems like today they want to eat at the same time. They both didn’t really enjoy being washed off this morning, and they let everyone know it.
I think that we had a pretty good night last night. Not really any fussing except when it was time to eat. Lane went to school this morning as usual. It’s funny that every morning when he goes to school, when he comes in to give me a kiss and a hug goodbye, he has to explain to me where he’s going and what he is going to do. I went up to Lane's room and played with him for a while last night to keep things at least a little somewhat like normal around the Billmanland household. I told Crissy that every time things seem to be going good, and I start thinking that maybe Crissy and I can handle things, Brooke and Brady both wake up at the same time and whoever I’m holding looks at me and says, “Don’t get cocky!” Anyway, I guess that at least at the moment, everything is ok here.
Well it was bound to happen. Last night was our first long night. Brooke was not feeling well and let everyone know she wasn’t. I’m not exactly sure what time she decided to settle down, or when the gas finally passed, but I think it was somewhere around 3am or so. We don’t know if they just ate too much or if the formula doesn’t agree with them just yet, but whatever it was, something didn’t agree with Brooke last night. Brady seemed to do alot better, except when Brooke woke him up then they both started crying. I think we knew that the good nights wouldn’t last forever, but we hoped for maybe just a little longer.
We went back to the doctor today to get more blood work done, temperature, and another weighing. Yesterday Brady’s weight was 5 pounds 15 ounces, and today his weight is 6 pounds 3 ounces. Yesterday Brooke’s weight was 5 pounds 4 ounces, and today her weight is 5 pounds 6 ounces. Their temperatures yesterday were a little low, and today Brady’s temperature was 99.1 (I guess I was holding him too tight), and Brooke’s temperature was 98.6 (she’s already trying to be perfect). Brady’s bilirubin level had gone up just a little bit, and Brooke’s level had actually gone down. In other words, things look very good and the doctor said that she is encouraged that the bilirubin levels have peaked and we may not even have to have phototherapy. The babies, knock on wood, have also been sleeping and eating well so all things considered, I guess we can’t complain.
Today we had to go have some blood work done on the babies. They checked their temps, in the backside, and they babies did not like that very much. I do not think that I would either. They thought that their temps were too low so they kept coming back and checking them. It’s really no wonder they were low since we had to undress them down to their diapers, carry them down a hall like that, weigh them, then walk down the hall again to our room. You know, it was fairly cold today, and the room was too. Anyway, their bilirubin counts had gone up some, but the doctor said that we would wait on getting them on a bili-light. We have to go back tomorrow to have even more blood work done. Man I’m glad they don't walk yet, because I am sure their feet are hurting very badly.
I also uploaded a few new pictures as well as added pictures to Brooke and Brady’s pages.
We made it home this morning with the babies. Now it seems like that there is even less room in this house. I guess that’s because there is less room. Everything still seems to be ok with the babies. Lane seems to be showing the feelings of him not being the center of attention, but we knew that was coming. Tomorrow we have to go back to the doctor for some blood work on the babies. I hope that the weather isn’t nasty. I should say that we both hope that. So far our impressions are that Brady is going to be content with himself and Brooke is going to be a high demand kind of little girl. I know, how can you make these assumptions when they’re only 3 days old?
Things are still looking good today. Bama spent the night with Crissy last night so I could come home and stay with Lane. We gave him the chance to choose who he wanted to spend the night with him. We thought that it would be good to allow him to be involved with the decision to keep him from feeling left out. Crissy said that one of the babies did pretty well eating this morning while the other may have had a little trouble, sorry folks I know that I am bad for not remembering who did what, but my mind is still in crazy mode. Fixing to go back to the hospital with Lane. More to follow PLUS pictures as soon as I optimized them: that one is for Deann =).
5:00pm - We moved to the new room.
4:52pm - The Malishs got to the room.
3:32pm - Ty got to the room.
3:00pm - Brooke was born.
2:54pm - Brady was born.
2:00pm - Went to go get something to eat. I made it all the way to the cafeteria only to find out that I had forgotten my billfold. Then I had to walk all the way back to our room to get it. I then went back to the cafeteria, got 4 cookies and a piece of pizza. I had about one sixth of my pizza eaten and the nurse called and said it was time. I didn’t get to eat my meal just like with Lane.
12:38pm - Dr. Dunn came in and checked Crissy and said she was 7 or 8 centimeters
12:35pm - Anethesi(whatever) came in and gave Crissy another bolus of epidural
11:10am - Rhonda got to the room.
9:45am - Dad and Jane got to the room.
9:21am - Mom and Auntie got to the room.
9:15am - Bama got to the room with stories of this morning with Lane.
9:10am - Dr. Dunn came in and broke Brady’s water.
8:45am - Pam, Kaylee and Sean got to the room.
8:20am - The nurse just started the Pitocin and said that the anesthesi(whatever) must have put some Pitocin in the epidural because she was already having some contractions. She said that she may have to come back and cut the Pitocin off since Dr. Dunn had some stuff to do this morning and had said that he wanted to wait a little while so he could get through with his stuff. The anesthesi(whatever) didn’t put any Pitocin in the epidural, she was just joking. C’mon people, anesthesi(whaterver) don’t do that
8:00am - We are at the hospital waiting for things to happen. Crissy’s epidural is in and they will start the pitocin soon. 4:30am was really early this morning so we both are tired. We both have already said that we could both could take a nap. More later.
Ok, here’s the news. We are scheduled to be induced at six o’clock in the morning. We both are starting to get a little anxious and trying not to think about things too much. I’m going to cook fajitas for the super bowl for me, Lane, Bama, and Crissy. I don’t know if I’ll be able to update from the hospital or not, but I’ll figure something out to try to keep everyone informed either via the website or email.
Smokey and Green Grasshopper (the cats) were playing with a little nerf football and a little red ball in the backyard. They would stalk the balls, go rinning at them, and then tackle them and roll with them. Whoever did’t have a ball would go chase the kitty with the ball. It was funny to watch.
Lane kept asking for another New Years drink today. It was sparkling grape juice...c’mon people!
Lane stayed up late with us last night. He had a long nap earlier. He wanted to see the guy jump his red bull car over the water.
Today I took Lane to get his second, and final H1N1 vaccination. He did a very good job of being brave. When I finally told him why we were at the hospital, I thought for a second that he was going to have a meltdown and say that he didn’t want to get a shot. But we had a talk, and when we were in the room waiting for the nurse, he told me that he wished they would hurry up and get this over with. When the nurse told him to lay down, I could see his eyes start to mist-up. As the needle went in, he closed his eyes very tight and made a look of pain on his face while I held his hand. But he didn't cry and it was over very quickly, and he got his “candy pop” reward after he received his shot. After we left the building, he wanted to walk over to see the fountain at the new Hillcrest hospital, we did just that. He commented that the water was too cold to get in. I’m surprised he didn’t try to get in anyway. He did such an awesome job that I could not be more proud of him. He certainly is turning into a little man before our eyes.
Today Crissy went back to the Dr. Jones in Temple, and since I am now out of school, I drove like a good husband should. The trip down was actually very uneventful and rather quick. Dr. Jones said that everything looks “Normal”, which we took for meaning that everything is still good. Both of the babies have there heads down which a good thing. Brooke weighs 3.7 lbs and Brady weighs 3.5 lbs. Crissy’s next appt. in Temple is supposed to be January 20th. We’re still not sure if she will go that long, but we’ll just have to see. Everything that Dr. Jones said went right along with what Dr. Dunn said Friday of last week. Very soon Crissy will start having to go see Dr. Dunn every week. I can’t believe how soon things will be happening. Here are a couple of pictures of Brooke and Brady.
Lane had his first Christmas program this evening. His class sang "Twinkle Twinkle Christmas Star" and "God Made The Mountains". They did a very good job and Lane sang, smiled, and looked liked he was having fun. All things considered, it was a very good experience.
Well, my it has been a long time since this thing was updated. There’s only one person to blame for that. Let me see, what has happened since the last post? Crissy has gone back to the doctor in Temple and had another scan, which went well. The Doctor said that everything still looked good and the babies are where they should be in their development. Lane is still going to Parkview 3K. He still seems to like it. He still enjoys TOT, which is playing basketball. He even wore his shirt last week, which he has not been doing. School is about to roll to a close for me. This is always a stressful time for me. I’m not taking classes at school next semester, for obvious reasons, but I may still take a distance learning class just to stay in the loop. Last weekend the Evans crew came down and helped us get all the rooms moved around. We got ALOT of things done so that there is just a few things left to do. Ha Ha, there’s still alot to do, but at least the big stuff seems to be done for now. That’s all I can think of for now, got to go get the boy ready for his bath. Lane has a couple of more comments that I’ll put in later. Later all.
Well mom, I guess I’ve made you wait long enough. Crissy and I went to Temple this morning so she could have her level 2 ultrasound. We were running a little behind, we weren’t late though. I told Crissy that I bet her a Dr. Pepper that we wouldn’t be seen by 11:00 anyway. We were in the room about 10:50 so I lost that bet. The Dr. said that everything looked fine and that they both are right were they should be. The drive down to temple was uneventful. On the drive back we got to see the spot where the bad accident was last week. When we got back to Waco, we went and had mexican food. After we finished eating, we came home and then I went to school, and Crissy went shopping and then to pick up Lane from school. Well, I guess that’s all for now. By the way...we’re having A BOY AND A GIRL! =)
Lane went to his first movie today. Crissy and Lane went to see "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs". Lane’s favorite part was the spaghetti and meatball tornado. Crissy and I go to temple tomorrow for the level 2 ultrasound that should tell us the sex of the babies and if they can see any problems. I will be sure to let you know what we find out tomorrow. Lane has a few more comments as well. Later.
I’ve changed the way the all the photos display when they are clicked. They now display using Lightbox 2. Let me know what you think about the new display method.
There are a few more funny comments made by Lane on his page.
Well, ok everyone, I have finally put up some new pictures. If any of you have wondered what Lane’s teacher looks like, you can now go and find out. Everything is still the same around the house and with everyone. Cousin Robby’s crew is just about through painting the house. That won’t make Lane happy since he loves to talk to the guys. Another week down at school for Lane and I, and another week “drillin’ & fillin’” for Crissy. It’s kind of late right now so I think I will conclude for now and pick this up tomorrow. Cya later.
Memo’s funeral will be Friday 9/11/2009 at 10:00am. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon from 6:00-7:30. You can call the funeral home in Clifton for more information.
Just a little note to let those who may read this know, Michael’s grandmother passed away today. The funeral is supposed to be Thursday sometime. I don’t have an exact time yet, but I will know by tomorrow. Rest in peace Memo.
Another long weekend that seemed like it just began has come and gone. Lane’s been a little puny the last couple of days. He’s been running a low grade fever and been congested. So far today he hasn’t had any fever, and he doesn’t seem like he feels bad, but if he’s sick, then I don’t think that they will let him in school. Hopefully that won’t be an issue. Anyway, nothing really went on over the weekend, and 6:30am is going to come early in the morning so I think I’ll end for tonight. Talk to yall later.
Well, I made it through the first week of school without anything bad happening to me. As if I thought there would be anything bad happening. Thursday afternoon when I went back to school after lunch, there were NO parking places for me to park. I was lucky to find one of my friends that were leaving so I waited for him to back out (with three cars behind me) so I could get his parking spot. I can’t believe how many new people there are at school. In a few weeks, after the money has been given out, we’ll see how many are left. I think that in the future, I’m going to post it here if there are updates to the individual pages. That way people will know, for instance, if Lane has posted a new funny comment. Let me know what you think.
I plan on downloading some pictures this weekend so there should be some new pictures up very soon. Lane also took school pictures the week, and they turned out very good if I do say so myself. He just seems to talk everything in stride. He started TOT this week, in which they play basketball. If you would like to go to their website, then click here.
Well it’s midnight and I really should be in bed cause I have get up at 6:30am for my “blank”ing 8:00am class. But, anyway, everything seems to still be going fine around here. The babies are still brewing, Lane still seems to be enjoying school, and I’m getting started with school again. So, I guess everything is back to normal...for the moment.
Another week of school down, and Lane came home with a Star of the Week thingy. Everyone may have gotten one, but one of his teachers that I have talked to said he is doing an amazing job. He still seems to like school, but it seems that he is getting harder to get up in the morning. We’ve instituted a new bed time schedule, which means that he has to go to bed earlier. We haven’t had a whole lot of resistance yet because he seems to be getting tired sooner than he used to. We hope things stay this way. Crissy is still “drillin’ ’n fillin’”. I’ve had the week off before semester number 4 starts for me at school. I spent two days cleaning out the garage, if that tells you anything about how dirty the garage was. Three large sacks of cans, 4 boxes stuffed with broken-down boxes, and 8 large sacks of trash later and the garage was clean. You would think that I would have picked a better time of year to do this, but, oh well, it’s done.
Tonight we went out to eat with the whole family. We met everyone at Texas Roadhouse and ate some food. Enjoyed seeing everyone and the food was good. I guess we were celebrating Bama getting a new house that she hasn’t bought yet but it looks like she is going to buy. Way to go Bama.
I just realized something. A week or so ago Crissy and I went to see Dr. Dunn about the progress of the future arrivals. After 13 weeks everything looks fine with the future arrivals. Dr. Dunn said that everything looks good and to get ready. Now, we’ve really got to think about how we’re going to arrange things around the house as far as rooms go. Man there always has to be something.
Well, one week of school for Lane down and all seems well up to this point. I know that it is only one week, but we (mommy and daddy), are very proud off him. Another semester down for me, one week off, and back to school again.
Day 2 at school for Lane...he has already had an incident report sent home with him. I know what you’re thinking, but no, it wasn’t for being ugly. He fell on the playground and scraped his knee. His teacher said that he didn’t even cry. They just slapped a bandaid on it and he went back to playing. I know it seems kinda cheesy to send a report home for a little skinned knee, but at least they did do that.
Lane’s first day at school seems to have gone pretty well. Crissy said that when she dropped him off, she told him goodbye and she would see him later and he simply said bye mommy and ran off to play with the other kids. There were no tears shed (except from mommy). When Crissy got there to pick him up, he was playing blocks with callen and another boy, and didn’t really want to go home (imagine that). Daddy was also very nervous when they left this morning. One day down and so far...so good. There will be a picture of Lane and Ms. Ada (Lane’s teacher) at some point in the future (in other words, as soon as I get them downloaded).
I have the Games Arena up and running for those who might want to play a game. Yes they’re cheesy, but hey, some of them are challenging.
Ty Ty came over for a visit and to play with Lane. They had fun together. We had pizza for supper, eat your heart out Garrett. Lane entertained Ty by doing the Osito Gominola dance.
Our dog Molly passed away today at 4:30pm. She will be missed.
Our friends the Alexanders were driving through town heading back to SA and they gave us a call to see if we wanted to go out to eat with them. We had just finished eating, but we met them anyway. It was really good to see them because we miss spending time with them like we used to do. My how there kids have grown.
We went to watch Garrett and Sean play ball in Bosqueville. Unfortunately they lost the game, but they still got second place in the tournament. I know they wanted to win, but it just wasn’t in the books. There were some questionable ump calls though.
Lane and mom went to a birthday party while dad stayed at home. Imagine that.
Yes it really does suck not having a fridge. But we’re all set up and running again with a new fridge. Also the TV in the bedroom is acting freaky. It’s coming on all by itself and scanning channels. Needless to say, when it did this at around 6 this morning, the dang thing was unplugged. Seems like we’ve had hell with electronics this week.
Oh boy. The fridge shorted-out and caught fire. What an evening. No damage, other than the fridge. Oh and the loss of some food. Glad I was awake.
Lane’s first swim lesson went well…so I was told. I was in school while he was taking his lessons. Anyways, when I stopped by after school, he seemed to be having fun.
Lane took his first swim lesson today…more later on how that went
Crissy and Lane went to Clifton to go visit the family. I would have gone with them, but Lane said that he wanted me to stay at home. He also said that they would have more fun without me. He concluded by saying that Slush and the snake would keep me from being lonely.
BillmanLand has finally been launched again after a…er…several year hiatus. We shall see how things go this time.

Link Harris is like Lincoln Log Harris. (he was watching a tv commercial)
I’m talking to you so look at me, stop looking at your pizza.
Hey daddy, if that car ran into you it would leave a big dent in that car, because you have a big booty.
Hey daddy, that’s not your kind of Zyrtec. Your kind of Zyrtec is called women’s Zyrtec.
When things get old, they have to be picked up by a crane. (He was talking about loading cars on the top level of a car hauler trailer)
I need to call Daniel. (Now he picked up my cell phone) “Hello Daniel? What are you doing?” Oh, the call got dropped. “Hey Daniel, yeah, the call got dropped. Bye.”
Daddy, is that Balkamole (Baltimore)?
That sounds good baby
I just tooted a hot toot
Hey daddy, did that sign say “I love poo-poo & peanut"?
I’m a few years away from medicare...but what if something unexpected happened.

Hmmm, to DL or not to DL, that is the question. It seems that it is getting harder and harder to get the classes that I need to take taken. I’ve found that I’m not much for DL classes for myself, but it seems that I may have to drift that way if all the classes that I need to take do not make the minimum. It makes me worry a bit about our technology if they are having problems filling spots to be able to have in class classes.
Well I made it through another week of school. I’ve still got some things to do, so I really should be doing them instead of messing with the site, but I just can’t help it. Glad I wasn’t at school today during the shooting (Too early for me anyway).
Molly passed away today right at 4:30pm. It is strange around the house this evening without Molly being around. Lane hasn’t asked about anything yet, but I know it will happen soon. She had been very sick lately and I knew it was only a matter of time, but it didn’t make things any eaiser. I have many happy memories that I will remember forever. Rest In Peace Molly, and may your pains be no more. I miss you already.
